Lakeshore West Line GO Expansion
Mimico GO Station
Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is now underway to deliver faster, more frequent GO service across core segments of the network, including the capacity for trains every 15 minutes or better on the Lakeshore West line.
To help support this work, Metrolinx is upgrading our stations and rail network to enable more frequent and fully accessible service, including accessibility and amenity upgrades to Toronto’s Mimico GO Station, to help serve you better.
Mimico GO Station is currently in procurement and design. A development phase is underway with a construction manager to oversee design details for the required infrastructure upgrades.
For more information on project phases, please check out our project lifecycle page.
Project overview
Metrolinx is upgrading Mimico GO Station to enhance the customer experience and ensure barrier-free access for GO customers. These upgrades include:
- A new east connection with elevator and stair access to the platform level to provide an accessible route to all platforms, with customer access from both sides of the rail corridor.
- A new south tunnel entrance at Manchester St. and Blue Goose St. with elevator and stair connections to the platforms.
- Platform upgrades, including tactile walking surface indicators at the edge of the platform.
- Accessibility and customer experience upgrades to the platforms and shelters.
Improving infrastructure at existing stations is essential to supporting population growth, meeting increased ridership demands and moving people across the region faster, safer and more seamlessly.
