Yonge North Subway Extension Emergency Exit Building Open House
Welcome
Metrolinx is building the Yonge North Subway Extension to bring TTC Line 1 subway service farther into North York and York Region. The project includes five new stations along an extension of approximately eight kilometres.
As part of this work, there will be a total of six new emergency exit buildings (EEBs) across the entire extension. At this stage, we’re focusing on the three EEBs planned for the portion of the alignment between Clark Avenue and Langstaff Road East.
Between September 10 and September 24, 2025, Metrolinx hosted an open house with both virtual and in-person participation options to offer a chance to learn more about the EEBs, ask questions to project experts, and share feedback. The in-person portion of the open house was held on September 17, 2025 at the Yonge North Subway Extension community office in York Region.
We’re here for you
We know you have questions about the project, and this open house is your opportunity to ask them. Whether you join us in person or online, our community engagement team will be available provide answers and hear your feedback. If you have questions about this event that weren’t answers here, please reach out to us at 416-202-7000 or YongeSubwayExt@metrolinx.com.
